The month of February is already a unique month as it is the only month with the whole 28/ 29 – day thing going on. What adds to its originality is that it celebrates unimaginably inventive and random things such as Hot Breakfast Month, Bird Feeding Month and the most beloved Library Lover’s Month! Now we all know about Valentine’s Day but for all those anti- Valentiners out there fear not for there are other holidays worth enjoying.
For instance, the 1st is Bubblegum Day so if you’re one of those people getting in trouble for chewing gum in class then this is your day ‘cos you can chew gum and think of it as celebrating the birth of a marvellous invention and ignore all those teachers who think gum will “hinder your learning ability”. Also, the 24th of February is World Tortilla Chip Day so for all you Dorito lovers out there, go crazy!
Unlike famous holidays that began as the aftermath of wars or independence of sorts, all these holidays are merely to celebrate the little things that we like about life and are glad that exist. Although none of these weirdly wonderful days have a background history, they are all a few decades old and unfortunately, people miss out on celebrating them as they don’t know these days exist. Methods of celebrating these days are very self- explanatory; eat chips and gum and read and feed birds!
